TOP 4 DISEASES AND DISORDERS FOR THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
- Heart Attack
The main cause of heart attack is coronary artery disease. A heart attack is caused when blood flow to the heart is blocked or slowed down. This happens because of the build up of fat and sometimes because of plaque that ruptures, making a blood clot. Symptoms of a heart attack include shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness, and cold sweat. You can avoid having a heart attack by maintaining a healthy weight, eating healthy food, and exercising regularly.
2. Stroke
A stroke starts in the heart with arrhythmia, which is a condition where you have an irregular heart beat. This can lead to a blood clot, and eventually this blood clot can travel to the brain and carotid artery. This clot can end up becoming stuck in the brain, causing a stroke. If it is stuck in the left side of the brain, your whole left side can become paralyzed. A stroke on the left side can also affect your ability to speak, listen, and understand words.
3. Heart Failure
Heart failure can be inherited as a generational disease. It can come from an infectious and low tolerant immune system and from high blood pressure. When your heart cannot keep up with its workload, you are considered to have heart failure. The lifelong condition in which your heart muscle cannot pump enough blood to meet the demand of your body is called heart failure.
4. Arrhythmia
Arrhythmia causes a problem with the heart rate or rhythm of your heart beat. It is when the electrical system of your heart and brain is not working properly. Arrhythmia is very common, being found in 1.5 to 5 percent of the population. However it is not always harmful; it can simply feel like your heart is fluttering. When arrhythemia is harmful, it can affect your brain, lungs, and other vital organs.Â
