Circulatory System

What if you could not run or do anything that requires energy? That is what it would be like without your circulatory system. The circulatory system is the body system that acts as highways for your blood. It pumps blood through the venae cavae, the right atrium and ventricle, then through the pulmonary valve and artery. These are highways for the lungs, where a gas exchange happens. In the aveoli, there is a gas exchange where the oxygen from lungs in the respiratory system switches places with the carbon produced by cells, making ATP. This oxygen rich blood then goes back to the heart, where it travels throught the left atruim and ventricle, avalve, and the aorta. In the aorta, there are four valves the blood could go through, one leading to each arm, one to your head, as well as one to your lower body (and eventually legs).
